    Hi guys,
it is more than half a year I realized that there are 2 guys over at Plex forum trying to develop a proxy to make it possible to use the Enigma2 boxes as a DVR device in the PlexDVR functionality of Plex Server.
It all started by FidoFuz, who did a small windows program, kind of proxy, to mask any Enigma receiver as a HomeRun box.
    https://forums.plex.tv/discuss…hr-emulation-of-enigma/p1
    this program isn't maintained anymore

Then andyblac1974 took it to another level by transforming this concept to an Enigma2 system plugin, which can run directly on the Enigma2 box.
Its first name was PlexDVRapi now it is HRtunerProxy (HR=HomeRun)
support thread is living here https://forums.plex.tv/discuss…rt-for-plex-dvr-livetv/p1
the source is living at GitHub https://github.com/OpenViX/HRTunerProxy

At that time I saw them having an issue with never-ending recordings, and trying to achieve a fix/feature in the Enigma2, so I have asked here if the feature could be also implemented.
streamserver adjustment for Plex DVR API

Now half year later I am back here starting this topic to catch attention of some plugin developer, who would be able to adjust the plugin to make it work on DreamOS/OE2.5 based images.

I have copied the plugin in the systemplugins folder, but it didn't run correctly.
I haven't got any greenscreen, but after reboot I could see Enigma2 eating the whole CPU for about 3minutes on my DM7080 and then exit.
On the screen I could just see the wheels, in the log I couldn't find anything suspicious, well except this:

It actually looked like it finally started but then the LCD went dark.

The whole time, is the web interface also not available.

    thanks for any comment

PS: you can also answer in German, I understand quite well, in the meanwhile I just don't trust myself enough to use it by writing.

found a article on the internet how to check if the CD was recognized successfully
it looks like the system sees it as an audio CD with 12 tracks
there is just no player which will see it

I have installed the enigma2-plugin-extensions-mediaplayer, but it also offers just HDD, Network and Internal Flash mounts

    thanks for stopping by

Although I think I have all which might be needed for playing the audio cd already installed

But it somehow still doesn't behave as I would expect.
There isn't any autoplay popup window coming up after inserting DVD-VIDEO disc.
I need to fire up the DVD player my self.

It looks like the harddisk.py errors while ejecting the media disc

and inserting another disc are both OK

It looks like the "found block device 'sr0':" line is the cruicial one

But I don't know what to do with the audio cd, when I insert the CD-AUDIO disc I get the very same lines as when inserting DVD-VIDEO.
There is again no autoplay poping up
When I open the GP Music-Browser or Jukebox it wants me to open some mount folder, but there is non which would contain the audio files and if I got it right the mount of CD-AUDIO isn't actually possible.

    thanks for any help

    PiGeon

    thanks for trying to help

initially I didn't have it installed, but it crashed also with it
I have even a newer version installed

    Zitat

    root@dm7080:~# apt list *css*
    Listing... Done
    libdvdcss2/unknown,now 1.4.0-r0.0 mipsel [installed]

It didn't leave me at rest, so I did some other tests.

I have updated DM7200HD to the last available OE 2.0 image and connected the DVD drive to it. And guess what, everything works. As soon as I insert a disc it gets recognized and asks me if I want to play it, doesn't matter if CD or DVD.

So I went back to DM7080HD and tried to mount manually CD-AUDIO disc, later learned that this isn't correct, CD-AUDIO isn't supposed to be mounted because there isn't a file system.
Then I tried to mount DVD-VIDEO and it was successful

The harddisk.py still seems to have the very same trouble mounting the DVD-VIDEO, although the manual mount works quite well

It seems that I still have some other issues, because the enigma crashes when I start the DVD player from menu or choose to play DVD from the gemini VIDEO browser.

    Hi,
our old DVD player is gone, so I thought about attaching an USB DVD drive, which I use just occasionally, to dreambox.
I already have the whole collection on the Plex server, but my wife still would like to be able to play the CDs and DVDs the old fashion way.

After fighting with powering it properly it seems to be finally loaded successfully.

nevertheless it fails to mount the file system of the CD audio disc

    Dec 09 20:11:32 dm7080 enigma2[196]: found block device 'sr0':

and it fails also when I insert DVD video disc

the DVD drive is one from ICYbox and uses a Cypress chipset
I have installed following modules to make it working:
    apt install kernel-module-ums-cypress
    apt install kernel-module-udf
    even the
    apt install kernel-module-isofs
which I think shouldn't be necessary.

As I am not a Linux expert is there anything I am missing here?

    thanks for any comment

It seems I have found the reason of the issue with reserving the tuners.
I have went through the log myself and found out some suspicious lines which made me to went through the config again.
And guess what I forgot on all the unicable tuners to remove the previous configuration = set the LNB to "not available"

Did you think about showing a summary of the configuration on the tuner configuration screen, so we can see all or at least some of the details?

    regards

    PiGeon

So I am back to report
thanks for the hint, I wouldn't have find it without it.
It is hidden quite well, but I understand why it is so complex.
I hope though that you come up with something similar to what I wrote above.

    Now to the feedback.
Generally it works, but there are some issues, not sure if this is wrong config or a bug or both.

First I tried to configure all tuners with the Configuration Mode option set to Advanced and the Satellite option set to All Satellites 1 (see the pictures)

But it didn't want tu tune at all.
So I have made inactive all but the A1 tuner, but it still didn't work.
Then I have changed the A1 tuner back to simple and positioner, the way I used to have it all the time, which helped.
Then I made all the other tuners subsequently active again and tested it after making each active.
And with this config it seemed to be fine.
It does return from the 19.2 back to 23.5 as expected.

But there is some issue with reserving the Tuners while setting recordings on 4 diff
I had two distinct cases, however now I am experiencing just the latter one.
    1. after successfully starting 3 recordings of channels on different transponder I couldn't start the 4th recording, getting an error about conflicting recording, but I could switch to a channel on 4th transponder (none of the channels were greyed out in the channel list).
    2. after successfully starting 3 recordings of channels on different transponder I couldn't start the 4th recording and getting an error no free tuner when switching to a channel on 4th transponder (all the channels on other transponders were greyed out).
See the attached log from the second case.

    thanks for looking into it

    PiGeon

    Hi Ghost,
I will probably need your help.
I think I have tried all possible combination in the tuner configuration, but haven't been able to find the "Positioner depends" option anywhere.

For my use-case I would expect a new option in Configuration Mode, something like "additional Uni-Cable of motorized LNB", which will then allow to change all the necessary Unicable attributes of the tuner. But I understand that all the intended changes of the tuner config interface might not be all finished yet.

After todays update the version of my enigma is 4.3.1r16-r0.1, hope this is the one you have meant.

    thanks for any help

    PiGeon

PS: I have attached screenshots of my current tuner configuration
PS2: it would be great if you could add an information to the "Reception Settings" screen about the tuner currently configured.

    Great!
Hope I will be able to update tomorrow morning and will report back.

I am just confused a little bit about your statement "You have to configure the slave tuners exactly like the Tuner with the Rotor connection".
I am wondering what options could be configured on the Unicable tuners exactly like the Rotor one to still have the unicable functioning.

    thanks
