You are of course the Master, but the FAQ for Dreamflash Version 1.4 on the /board.old/ shows NFS can be used. I managed to install an image on the pc, but no boot menu on rebooting. It is confusing !

    your question

I have Dreamflash Version 2.8 in my image. I also have nfs server Windows SFU in the pc. Nfs mount OK (from dreambox comm settings) with mount point /hdd. With Function Add Image I have installed an image. With Information I can see the image in the list below Flash Image. With Setup I have installed a skin in /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/boot.

When I reboot, I cannot see any boot menu, the box just boots to the Flash Image. DCC shows mount point /hdd (not mounted). Any advice how I can boot to an installed image ?

    your question

I can multiboot using Flashwizard with any new image (including my own) in flash. The problem is when I install a cvs image (also my own) in pc by nfs, it installs ok, but does not boot. Just hangs. Could it be because dreamflash is installed in the new cvs image ?

Second question, can dreamflash be used to install images in pc and boot by nfs ?

    Regards, pcd.

Many thanks to all three of you. It works, and I can see the log on file with telnet closed.

    Hi,

Thanks. I can close the console now with enigma running. But still nothing goes into the file !

    Regards, pcd.

    Hi,

I can now see enigma log on the telnet console.

However, as I am using vlc streaming in my tests, I would like to see the log output on a file. If I do

    killall rcS
    killall enigma
    enigma>/tmp/enigma.log

the log still keeps coming to the console, nothing goes to enigma.log although the file is created. If I exit the console, enigma turns off and the screen goes black. What am I doing wrong ?

    Regards, pcd.

    Hi dcdead,

This is the beginning of the log. Any clue from this ? There is no rcs in /bin. Could that be the problem ? rcs is in /etc/init.d, but if I do killall there, same result - no process killed.

    Regards.

    /bin > killall rcs
    killall: rcs: no process killed

Thanks for the reply. The telnet log is below. At that point I go to the blue panel and select a plugin, nothing shows in the log. Normally with another well known image I get the list of plugins, selected plugin etc.

Could someone please suggest how to see the eDebug function output from a plugin ?

The file /var/log/messages remains empty and with telnet no eDebug output appears in the console.

    Hi Kat-CeDe,

Thanks. I did as you suggested, but I now get a large number of errors after 'make dreamboximage_root'. I did not get these errors before.

Anyway, I have now installed my backup files and it is back to where it was. =)

The expert web interface problem has not been solved yet !

ps. Its all done now, thanks.

    your question

    Hi,

I am trying to use a plugin (movieplayer) in a cvs image. It requires 'expert web interface'. I have added the following text in /apps/tuxbox/enigma/configure.ac then did (1) deleted .part_enigma from /root/cdkflash (2) did 'make dreamboximage_root'. This did not change the web interface from standard.

Can somebody please advice what I should do to install expert web interface in the image ?

    CPPFLAGS="$CPPFLAGS -DDEBUG"
    fi

    if test "$BOXTYPE" = "dm56x0" ; then
    CPPFLAGS="$CPPFLAGS -DENABLE_RFMOD -DENABLE_EXPERT_WEBIF -DDEBUG"
    elif test "$BOXTYPE" = "dm7020" ; then

then you'll find enigma output in this file. As an alternative you can start enigma normally and you'll see it's output directly on the console

I did that, but nothing appears in /tmp/enigma.log

I am using a cvs 56x0 image. Does your instruction apply to a 56x0 image ?

Please, how can I get debug log in a cvs image ? If I telnet 'syslogd' I get only following 2 lines in /var/log/messages:-
