Compact Flash

    Please provide some information about the hard- and software used.

    Firmware version: Release 1.00 from 12.09.2005







    Does anyone know what I can use the compact flash card for?
    is it only for recording movies, music etc?
    Or can i store some information, like a backup or something like that, and boot it from the CF card?

    It is recognised as an ide device, so you can use it for the same things you can use a hdd for:


    -boot from it
    -mount it, for extra storage
    -...


    I wouldn't record on it, but it is very convenient to boot into a rootfs on CF, as CF's are silent (opposed to the hdd)
