HD...CompactFlash?

    Hi. I wonder if I can use a normal PC HD for my DB. If that´s so, why have i found a HD specialy made for the dreambox on the net? Do you think it´s becouse of that it´s already formated in Linux?


    My other question is, what can I use the CompactFlash card for? I tried to plug in 2 diffrent cards in my DB, just to see if i can record some few seconds. One 256MB and the other one was 1GB, but my machine couldn´t find any of them. Do i have to format the cards in Linux? And what is the use of these cards in DB?

    If some dealer sell special dreambox-hdds they take normal ones and tell you a joke.
    No hdd is special made for the dreambox. They can only be very quiet and take not much ampere. So somebody can mean that this is a hdd that will be very prefered for the dreambox
