To DMM team--help!

    Hi,guys
    I'm a Chinese user.I have a DM500-S.I like it very much.But I found a problem:there are only two language selection:German and English.
    I wonder If I can add a new language for example:Chinese so that more and more Chinese can enjoy it.

    I want to make a .mo file so that there is a selection:Chinese on the OSD for I saw some other friends use this method to add their own language.


    But when i translated part of the contents,and installed in, I found
    it doesn't show a little Chinese character,some of the items just don't
    show up,some show very curious characters .I don't know why.Is it that it doesn't support Chinese character,and need to install some .tff file ?

    I am sorry.
    But I installed a CVS_DM500_30012006.img on my box.
    There are English,Czech,Danlsh,Doutsch,Ellinika,Spanish,Estonian,Suom,an so on.
    Still ,there isn't Chinese in them.


    I wonder how to make a new language file---Chinese,so that our Chinese can use it more convenience,and more and more Chinese can enjoy it!

    The problem is that Chinese contains two byte characters, like Unicode.


    So the Dreambox software has to be Unicode or two byte character aware.


    I think there is no chance to add a Chinese language file.

    try to translate the english po file to chinese
    add it to apps/tuxbox/enigma/po


    then you need a free unicode font file with chinese characters
    rename it to md_khmurabi_10 , and put it in
    apps/tuxbox/enigma/data/fonts


    then build the cvs


    N.B
    if chinese language is written from right to left, you will need more steps :winking_face:

    As your methed,I have to install a fonts file.


    But I found most of the font files in wndows are over 6M.So I have to edit a font file myself, or smaller font files in windows.


    Anyone can tell me the method?

    DM500 only support 8bits,but chinese character need 16bits,so ,even if you have chinese .ttf file, it cant show chinese character still
