Hi i have a DM920 which stays with a red led after last weekend lightning. lots of houses in the neighbourhood had RF issues with equiptment. so now i want to start a reverse engineering project about the dm920 here.
the first one is does the DM920 (or DM900) power up/ boot up without a tuner installed in the unit? or does the power led stay red....
from here i want to post pictures from the board and some voltage points measured in a good unit.
i'm afraid that this is wasted effort... if neither tuner or power supply are defective then it's time for a new box... or a new modern setup.
Hi who is saying that the dm920 or power supply is not working. i guess but i say guess my problem is laying arround the tuner part ... but that has been removed for now to get the box powered on. i am curious to the buck convertor power supplies in standby. if any help ? please let me know...
the 2x 3 red in circled buck convertors outputs who can help me to tell what the output voltage should be for each ?

Hi ok i took out my FBC tuner which is dead from strike... Then i started diagnosing the unit and came to the conslusion my cpu died because of static electricity.
so i took off the cpu and installed a new one... placed new FBC tuner and my unit is up and running again.
(i have to say i was for years a prof. hardware enigeer and did many complex electronics repairs).
so if you have one or more broken dreamboxes DM900/DM920
