Dreambox 920UHD and NasaTV UHD

  • The NasaTV UHD channel has always been perfectly viewable on my 920.

Since a couple of days the screen remains perfectly black (no video) while the audio is normally present.

A streaming on PC via webif (VLC) works perfectly (audio and video present) and, always on PC, the playback of a recording is perfectly visible.

On the Dreambox also the recording plays only the audio, while the screen remains black.

Interestingly, if I zap directly to the channel the screen is always black, while if I tune to NasaTV HD and then switch to NasaTV UHD I always get a still image of the video broadcast at that moment.

    Below the stream data:

I can't try with an OE2.6 box: can anyone confirm?

  • Some advertising, good and bad news:

NASA TV via IPTV is the test/demo channel which I deliver to show how my ffmpeg-proxy Plugin works

Therefore I can confirm that with this it playes nicely and stable on the OE2.6 boxes.

The bad news is that I don't offer ffmpeg-proxy for the old boxes running only OE2.5.

NASA TV UHD via SAT works at the moment on my dreamtwo (see attached FreezeFrame screenshot), but on this you will have to wait for others to confirm if this is applicable during the whole day.

PS: Don't try ffmpeg-proxy on UHD channels  because it transcodes to standard ts format which will not lead to anything - except 100% CPU utilization

  • That's the first thing I did when I realized I was no longer displaying images.

A single transponder scan (no effect) and then a full 13°E scan (blinscan).

    The screen remains black...

  • 3840x2160p60 is what the skin shows aß resolution, but the Service Reference on the two is 1:0:1:11FA:2BFC13E:820000:0:0:0:

The 1:0:1 is a little bit ... strange ... for UHD .... which seems to iritate the Broadcom Chips not only on Dreamboxes

  • Hallo Spaeleus,

  • My configuration:

2160p, no autoresolution plugin, FBC tuner

Only still images if zapping fron NasaTV HD, black screen if zapping fron other channel

    DM 920UHD - DM Two - DM One - DM 7020HD-v2 - DM 7020HD

  • For me no difference for Tuners A1/A2 BCM45208)

No problem in scanning, both manual and automatic, but no video.

I haven't tried with the old tuners, not FBC, but I'd have to open the box....

    DM 920UHD - DM Two - DM One - DM 7020HD-v2 - DM 7020HD

  • Unfortunately, on transponder 10727 H in addition to NasaTV UHD there are only

    TravelXP 4k Europe

    Museum International

now both encrypted, so I can't make a comparison.

    Signal strength on transponder:

    14.20 ~14.30 dB

    SNR 89%

    BER 0

    DM 920UHD - DM Two - DM One - DM 7020HD-v2 - DM 7020HD

  • I did a comparison, only NASA UHD has those problems on the 900/920 TravelXP and Museum are working perfectly.
