Dreambox two in endlos boot schleife

  • Hallo,

Die Box bekommt also keine ip-adreesse via dhcp,

Also eigentlich will ich immer nur 1 bootlogo sehen, wäre so etwas möglich?

  • It's not the main bootlogo that is the issue and even if it was he can't still get into the box since there is no serial or lan connection

It's the small bootlogo (bmp) for the lcd display that is corrupted and by following Ghost instruction in the post "how to" he can fix this

danke, also du hast nur deine backdrop.mvi.

Merci schon mal.

  • Read this from Ghost how to get around this issue.

I suggest you put your box into rescue mode and flash a fresh image instead of trying to restore the .bmp file

  • Well, thanks for the tip, but this is what I tried already, with a SDHC card labelled "DREAMBOOT" in windows, but it seems the DBtwo doesn't read the SDcard Label correctly (If I've read this part of the log correctly)

    dbtwobootlog2:

    ......

    [mmc_startup] mmc refix success

    init_part() 282: PART_TYPE_DOS

    [mmc_init] mmc init success

    sdcard label: NO NAME

    739 bytes read in 3 ms (240.2 KiB/s)

    .....

Is there a difference of a SDcard labelled in windows or linux?

Or, do I have to use a old 2GB SDcard instead of a 16GB SDHC card?

I'm going to get such an old SD card and will try again.

  • Your log clearly says that the Dreambox doesn't see the partition on the SD Card and hence nothing changes when you plugin this SD card.

The maximum size for a partition with FAT filesystem is 2 or 4GB if I remember correctly, everything else will be FAT32!

Therefore your problem has nothing to do with the label

In other words, It would work also with the 16GB Card, but the Partition would need to be smaller and not covering the entire device.

  • Hi all, thanks for the great suggestions.

In between I removed the 16G partition from the SDHC and added a new 1G FAT partition lablelled DREAMBOOT to the SD card, so there is now just one active marked primary 1G FAT partition on the 16G SDHC card. (Did this in W10 DOS console with diskpart and format D: /FS:FAT /V:DREAMBOOT due I have actually no linux system except on DB two)

Tried it on DBox two, but with same result, no success.

DBox still doesn't recogize the partition on SD. :loudly_crying_face:

    bootlog5.log

I will try it again with new old 1G SD which hopefully arrives tomorrow.

  • Try like this

    1. Turn off the receiver with the button at the back.

    2. We take the sdcard for 4-16-32Gb, format it on the computer in FAT-32

    3. Open the program LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.rar

    Downloads - LibreELEC

    or https://www.balena.io/etcher

    4. Download the image for your receiver from the link (containing the word SDCARD in the title)

    http://download.blue-panel.com…nstable/developer/images/

    5. The image for your receiver through the program is loaded onto the sdcard.

    6. Insert the sdcard into the receiver and turn on the receiver with the button on the back.

This method makes it possible to restore the receiver and immediately have the firmware for viewing.

When the image is loaded, go to Menu-Standby/Restart-Recovery Mode
