FATAL ERROR: Boot 2nd image failed

I have been reading a bit up and down this board but cannot understand that the boxes just dies sunndendly
like one of the boxes was fine in the evening and next morning was dead. and the other 2 boxes died after image update from dreamboxupdate
the update process was OK, all the way, and im not a beginner in the DM world have programmed many boxes and have owned all the boxes from DM since the first Dreambox come out

is there anything I can do my elf to fix the boxes or do I need to send them back to Germany for a fix, is there any explanation why this happens to this boxes.
there must be a problem with SW or HW that this just dies out

  • Memsys error is 'standard'. Can't be resolved and has to be sent in for repair (Mainboard swap). Simply contact your dealer or contact Dream for an RMA ticket.

The 2nd has to rescue-flashed and new firmware flash.....

  • thank you for your answer.

for me is a bitt of a mistery that a box can break down after software install, even when the hole process gets done 100% correct and then after it does not boot anymore.

it can't be hardware problem as the last box was working fine before update, then I update the image via web , install goes correctly and 100% then just reboot the box, after is just dead and not working anymore

anyway I am not a engineer nor am I a programer but logically this sound like there is some problem with software then hardware.

    thanks for any replays

  • Believe me, this MEMSYS error is reported many, many times before also in this forum. It's simply a bad eMMC chip and can't be fixed by the customer. The box has to be repaired by Dream or replaced by your reseller if still in warranty. Probably there is no provision for error correction/exclusion on these eMMC devices.

Dreamboxes don't come in the quality of the DM8000 anymore. It's simple Chinese OEM production now (and certainly not the best......)

  • i Understand and I thank you for trying to help me out and appreciate your replay.

I just can't understand for my own purposes how can a box that works normally go so wrong just buy programming , and I can assure you that image flashing whent smooth and everything was fine before:

i gett it that there is a bad memory, but must be a explanation, I know Dreambox would not tell us end users what is the problem, but as I read both here in this forum and many other places this is a know problem for many users

I started with Dreambox since early days and have programeed all the DM models they have come with, but have seen this kind of problem with the lates models

anyway it is just for me knowledge for my own understanding of things and why they go wrong

    thank you for your help

  • Mittag an allen,

  • Use the board search above with MEMSYS ERROR,

    and have fun while reading.

than k you for your hint  I have actually read this before I asked here

i have even contacted Dreambox Germany but no response from them yet

seem Dreambox is not as it was once upon time

  • Hallo,

    Trotzdem Danke an alle :thumbs_up::smiling_face:

  • Mittag allen,

Meine Geräte : Dreambox DM 900 UHD Triple und Dur-line UK104 unicable LNB. (siehe Bild)

( siehe Bild 2)

    Dreambox meldet dann Tunen fehlgeschlagen.

    Vielen Dank schon mal.
