DM920 and red exclamation mark

  • Hello, or someone has already met with such a thing. The decoder entered this state after entering the menu and selecting the recovery mode, after restarting the display with a red exclamation mark and the inscription dreambox, no ip, no telnet, through putty com I can read the boot log and that's all . Does anyone have any solution for this state of affairs.

  • That's exactly what the receiver should do...check your router to find out the ip address. DHCP must be activated to get an ip address

    Boxen (im Einsatz): DM920, DM900, DMOne
    Developer Project Merlin - we are OpenSource

  • dhcp enabled on the router but can't see the dreambox

  • I am surprised this red color has always been a different yellow, the router does not detect the connection although the ip was assigned rigidly checked on 2 routers lan diodes are on

  • It's also possible that the rescue loader does not work properly anymore.

    Start a serial connection via the USB service port (putty.exe) and check the network settings via CLI. If not set, you can set IP, gateway and DNS server manually:
    -->> RE: DM900 / keien IP Adresse?

    After flashing and setup the new image update/reinstall the rescue loader when booted from flash:

    update-rescue -v

    some solution

  • If your configuration:

    receiver - lan - pc - "wireless connection" - wi-fi router,

    PC does'nt give IP adress, because the PC is slave for wi-fi router and receiver is subslave for wi-fi router.

    Wi-fi router doesn't see the receiver.

    Solution: on PC (Windows), you have to create "bridge" between 2 conections: LAN - "bridge" - wi-fi. Look it in LAN device settings.

    Wi-fi router will see the receiver via LAN connection and give an IP adress.

    May be in future I'll make a video how to do it.
