Did you conect your DM900 with an USB cable (Miniport on the DM900)?

If so: can you connect to the DM using putty WITH A SERIAL connection?
Please post you putty settings.

The login/ifconfig will only work with the serial connection...

I understand you frustration, but you need to understand the people who are trying to help you need exact description of each step you are doing.
Can you make some screenshots of your putty config and every step you do and upload them?

I think the culprit of your issue to connect to the box is the following lines

sh: cannot set terminal process group (-1): Inappropriate ioctl for device
sh: no job control in this shell
