Read MKV h264 files with OpenPli DM520 HD - Not Working

    I have installed the lasted OpenPLI image available on this website:
    PLI Website


    But by default this image doesn't always read MKV h.264 compressed files:
    - Sometimes it reads some files fine
    - Sometimes we have the sound but not the image
    - Sometimes it's not playing at all.


    What is strange is that it works great with DreamElite 6.0.
    That means some dependencies must be missing on OpenPli 4.0.


    Any idea which dependencies could be missing?

    It simply means that this is an old image mit an old gstreamer and an old enigma2 in comparison to DreamOS.


    And as there are no official PLi Images for the 52x you will not get any help from PLi team either.

    The Gstreamer version is indeed pretty old: 0.10.


    Isn't it possible to install easily 1.6.4 stable for instance?
    I searched already a lot but not easy at all to make it working.

    if you insist in such an old enigma2 and want a recent gstreamer you could try the OpenATV images, whch also support the 52x boxes officially. But I would not recommend any of these if you want or need support from DMM.
