Hi!
I have a problem: my new Dreambox DM800HD se V2 doesn’t boot more; it worked
well for one month, but from some days ago, after a black-out, it doesn’t work
more: after switching it on the display shows a picture with an IC, an USB
cable, the text “2nd failed!” and the blue LED blinks. What happened? How can I
fix this problem? I tried to re-flash it via DreamUp too, but nothing happens (look
at the attached picture!) Thank you for helping me!

Did you switch on the dreambox as requested ?

Did you switch on the dreambox as requested ?
Sure! -
Did you connect the USB and select the correct com port in DreamUP...
And you have to switch on AFTER DreamUP is running and telling you so because first stage loader will only connect at that moment
Turn off strange Forewalls and Antivirus, they often also block the connection, etc ...

Yes, the COM4 port is the only one existing on the PC, visible only if I connect the Dreambox, so it is surely the correct one. I act so:
1. I connect the USB cable between the PC and the Dreambox (with the power cable connected, but switched off with the rear switch): in Device Manager “Silicon Labs CP210x USB UART Bridge (COM4)” appears.
2. I run the DreamUP software and select the only one COM port, i.e. COM4.
3. I push the Connect button (Command frame of DreamUP): “Status” says: “Connection prepared, now switch on the dreambox!”
4. I switch on the Dreambox with the rear switch: nothing changes on the DreamUP screen and on the Dreambox display the picture with “2nd failed!” appears and the blue LED begins blinking.
5. End.

All the steps seem correct, so DreamUp should be able to connect and reinstall the 2nd stage loader. Strange...
Maybe something on your PC blocks the commuication or interferes with DreamUp.
Please try to disable Firewalls, AntiVirus or other software, that could interfere with the serial commuication. -
I tried the same procedure on another computer (no antivirus, firewall deactivated) with Windows XP Professional Version 2002 (SP3) and got the same result: nothing! (The first computer has Windows 10 as OS.)

Have you installed USB driver?

There is COM3, but I can see you have selected COM4 in DreamUP?

No, this is on the second computer (that one with Windows XP): the first one (with Windows 10) has COM4. -
Ok, then it should work, but I have no more tips for you :(.

I agree that everything should work. This is strange.
Maybe a bootlog gives some insights? Just start PuTTY with "Serial" and the correct COM-Port. Turn on logging under Session -> Logging and then start the PuTTY session. Then start the Dreambox and upload the log here please.

The log is not readable. I think by default the "Speed" setting of PuTTY might be wrong. Set it to 115200.

Done, but got the same log.

Have you tried another USB cable?
Yes: 3 different cables and 2 computers!
