Just bought a dreambox DM800 hd se but to be honest I haven't a clue about anything above the very basic functions of the unit. I may as well read the German forum cos it makes about as much sense as the English!

Is there anywhere on the Internet I can find out in plain, simple English what your all on about? I really want to get the best out of the box but at this rate I won't do. For example, can I record a programme and then download it on to a USB stick so that it can be played on a pc, or burned onto a DVD?

Secondly, is there anybody that has an issue where after a while the sound on whatever programme your watching becomes 'stuttery'? Like Missing every other word? The only way I can fix it is by turning the unit off and back on. Frustrating.

Got so many questions but can find any/many answers on here that I understand!

well ... I'll don't know if your box is stand alone or connected to your Router with LAN.

May be first to flash the box with an actual Image (at the moment dreambox-image-dm800se-20130327.nfi) => http://dreamboxupdate.com/opendreambox/2.0.0/images/dm800se/

and don't forget you will need the USB UART driver to connect with the mini usb cable to your box & pc, if you want to flash with dreamUp (that is the case if the box has no connection to network).

Many ways to copy recordings to pc or USB drives / pen, depending on your enviroment.
The best potential of the box you have, when the box is connected to network router / internet (home-network), for flashing with webinterface, moving records to pc etc.
