opkg install vsftpd-xinetd

At least on my 8k the upgrade path was broken too (though I can't figure out why, but I have to admit I didn't really try and partially blamed my overlay :D) and I had to manually install the package.

Was mich wundert, warum ging vorher(bei älteren OE2.0 Images) ftp ohne vsftpd-xinetd?

Same problem here after updating an hour ago.

Looks like the update did not really finish the first time (error about file that already provided by another package)

What I did was just to enter telnet and did an update again, the second time it worked fine, it installed some more packages and FTP was up and running again

opkg upgrade

Just when I though there were no easy questions left: because the package did not exist

At least obi appears to be experimenting with systemd and subsequently makes an effort to split up the packages a little further which resulted in the xinetd configurations of at least dropbear, telnet (masqueraded as busybox ;)), vsftpd and the enigma2-streamproxy being in separate packages.

Dank des letzten Updates funktioniert ftp weitgehendst wieder.
Es gibt aber noch ein Problem, wenn man vom Windows-Explorer per ftp auf die Dream zugreifen möchte. Unter OE1.6 ging das noch einwandfrei, seit OE2.0 geht es nicht mehr.
Schaut man sich das Ganze mit dem Netzwerkmonitor an, dann sieht man, dass der login noch funktioniert, der Verzeichniswechsel zu "/" jedoch nicht mehr.
Könnten sich das die Entwickler mal ansehen? Irgendwas scheint da noch nicht ganz ok zu sein.

Thanks for the tip. i had the same ftp issue.(omg i reinstalled ftp client on computer, and did Linux network re-setup). So it was OpenDreambox 2.0.0 update and not the rest of the network devices here

Hat sich das mittlerweile mal jemand angeschaut !? Es funktioniert nämlich leider immer noch nicht !

Ich nutze den Windows Explorer zwar nie für FTP, aber ich habe das eben mal getestet.
Zumindest hier mit Win7x64 gibt es keinerlei Probleme mit dem Explorer per FTP auf die Dreambox mit aktuellem OE 2.0 Stand zuzugreifen.

Ich hab auch Experimentel 2.0 installiert und mit XP und dem Total Commander hab ich auch keinen Zugriff mehr, was unter 1.6 tatellos funktionierte. Mit DCC kann ich aber auf die Box zugreifen, deshalb ist es mir noch nicht aufgefallen.

Das wird sich auch nie ändern solange Microsoft das nicht fixt. Ist halt standardeinstellungen von neueren linux versionen das das startverzeichnis halt dein home verzeichnis ist. Musst halt auf der Box umstellen das das startverzeichnis nach dem ftp login wieder / ist und nix anderes, weil der super tolle Windows Explorer kommt halt nicht damit klar wenn das verzeichnis nach dem login was anderes ist als /

Ach deswegen ist mir das nicht aufgefallen.. im Merlin ist per default local_root=/ in der /etc/vsftpd.conf gesetzt.
Wer das in anderen Images nachstellen will, muss einfach das o.g. Configfile mit einem linuxfähigen Editor editieren und danach die Box neustarten. Dann sollte es auch wieder mit dem Windows Explorer klappen.
