MKFS Failed for external HDD

    Hi All,


    I am trying to connect my formatted ext3 external usb hdd to 800HD box but when after initializing the hdd, after some time i get an error message "Unable to initialize harddisk. Error: Mkfs failed".


    Can some one tell me what to do here?

    If the disk is already formatted with ext3, you do not need to initialize it again.
    You labeled the disk "hdd" ?


    The initializing on the DB can fail, if the disk is too big (for initializing, not the
    usage itself).
    You will need swap space in this case of failure.
