  • In some images it is necessary to disable the gstreamer plugin souphttpsrc . To do this please rename /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstsouphttpsrc.so to libgstsouphttpsrc.soX (for this plugin only).

all oe 1.6 images use souphttpsrc since 20100708: http://git.opendreambox.org/?p…a36b8608a8b4ebbec572edd42

so why don't you try to use souphttpsrc instead of outdated neonhttpsource?

Because souphttpsrc gives this gstreamer error and I have not found a way to get around it - yet ( need to find a way to change "setting timeout on souphttpsrc to 10s" from inside the plugin if possible) :-

I think your problem is the authorization of your link. souphttpsrc needs the user-id and password, but your http-reference makes the auth with an attribute (
?auth=1281635824-8c5adf83f3b80bf2ee4b120e79044bd9 )...souphttpsrc is responding with an error 403: forbidden... I don't think that you can find a solution for that...but I'll keep my fingers crossed for u! You should talk with fraxinas about your problem, maybe he as an idea.

What you can do is getting the stream without gstreamer... thats not so nice, but better than suggesting to rename libgstsouphttpsrc.so ...

The plugin works ok with neonhttpsrc in the image.

Aha... So why u are suggesting this?

In some images it is necessary to disable the gstreamer plugin souphttpsrc . To do this please rename /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstsouphttpsrc.so to libgstsouphttpsrc.soX (for this plugin only).

    That is no proper solution...

  • Because playbin2 picks up souphttpsrc - even when neonhttpsrc is present.

    Yes, I know...
But unfortunately for u, in all new images is souphttpsrc installed... and again: renaming / uninstalling souphttpsrc because of your plugin is no proper solution for the users...
I thought you were interested to find a solution, but you are only justifying your renaming souphttpsrc-hack...
Let's hope for your Plugin that you'll find a good workaround.

Anyway, it is none of my business.

    Dr.Best

  • Hi Dr.Best,

I am very grateful for your comments.

    I have modified the plugin.
