timers and their locations

  • I finally have my first dreambox.

I have been setting timers via the web interface and it got me curious. Where does the timer information reside. Is it a file somewhere on the system, or buried deeply somewhere else.

Are there any utilities for setting timers other than the web interface?

    Thanks

  • I used DCC and did a backup and it created a timer.epl file. I have not found this file yet on the box, is it an actual file or does it create this and timers are embedded in another file?

    Can anyone explain this line

    #SERVICE: 1:0:1:3f3:1:1000:6180000:0:0:0:

I know the 3f3 is the service ID

    1:1000 is the transponder.

    What about the rest

    Thanks

What about epg data, is that stored in a file somewhere that can be viewed and/or edited

/hdd/epg.dat (or something like that) :grinning_squinting_face:

    cu

  • if you record a service, the epg-data is stored in an *.eit-file.
the /hdd/epg.dat is an binary file for global epg-data

    DreamBox7000S ( eigenes CVS-Image, Samsung 160 GB@5400 U/Min)
    dBox2@Linux ( eigenes CVS-Image Sagem 1xI, Avia600 )
    Typhoon USB 1.1 Stick - 128 MB
    Joker-Modul @ Kamilz 1.15

  • Thanks again

I have a DM500 so it does not have a HDD. Does that would mean that unless I have mounted a drive the epg data would not exist?

I do have a drive mounted and I can find that file but it has not been modified for a couple of days (5), so I assumed that it was something else to do with epg.

We only get now and next and I want to manually add a couple of days worth.
