DM525: compact Dreambox with CI slot
DM520 successor developed at customers’ request
While Dreambox announced its return to the market successfully in the shape of the DM520, the new DM525 goes even better: The successor to the DM520 additionally features a CI slot, which completes the innovative technical features of the new Dreambox, a facility that was frequently requested by many customers. The DM525 is available in the trade with immediate effect for satellite, cable and terrestrial reception (DVB-T2 with H.265 support), additionally, it supports the Sat>IP standard. At a recommended retail price of only 149 Euros, the DM525 compares very favourably with comparable Linux-based digital receivers.
The DM525 is simply streets ahead of similar Linux receivers both in terms of features and pricing: inside, the new Dreambox is equipped with the latest generation Broadcom chip set (BCM 73625), ensuring ultra-fast channel switching times and very smooth navigation. The 512 MB flash memory of the DM525 is twice the size of the 256 MB memory typically fitted in compact boxes. In addition, the OE2.2-Plugin „IPTV“, due for release shortly, provides access to streaming networks, and with that to countless IPTV stations both domestically and internationally.
The back panel features the Ethernet port, the HDMI output, two USB interfaces and a Mini-USB service port as well as the CI slot. The front panel of the DM525 features the famous Touch On/Off sensor, which was introduced in the DM520, and caused quite a stir. As was the case with the DM520, the DM525 is a real looker, with its clearly structured, modern design. The technical features are state-of-the-art, ensuring great viewing pleasure, with brilliant TV images rich in contrast, both in SD and HD quality.
