DM900, no HDMI out

  • Hi All,
Suddenly I am not having my DM900 output anything via HDMI.
I have changed the cable, checked the TV ports, and everything else is working fine.

Just the HDMI out port is not working.
The box is still under warranty, but I want to save the trip to the factory as it usually takes a couple of months from where I am (Albania).

So, I kindly ask your help in determining where the fault might be, and if there is an easy fix(by replacing something easy),
or, maybe an workaround (like "adapting" HDMI IN to work as HDMI OUT, replace the connectors) or anything.

    Thanks for any eventual hint!

Please put your HDMI - CEC setup also. Have you played with different HDMI - CEC and A/V settings? Do you have other devices connected to the other HDMI ports on TV? And what TV you have? And finally, you use original image, right?

  • The log is fron non original image. But shory after I took yhe log, I did an online restore and now I am using the original image.
I did not change any CEC settings.
My TV is LG OLED 65EF950V.
It goes through a Yamaha receiver in which I have connected an Android player which works fine.

I have tested with another working cable and directly to tv hdmi port, but the result is the same.

BTW, does the startup log say anything about the state of the hardware?

Should I return it to dmm to fix?

Thanks a lot for your time

  • As I mentioned, my TV accepts the signal from HDMI of my receiver.
I have an Android device attached and I can display up to 4K 10 bit.

I have also tested the box in another TV.
The result is the same. No picture via HDMI.

So, I'm quite sure that the problem is my DM900.
My question is: is there any possibility to diagnose and fix it without sending the box for repair?
Does the log describes the problem?

    Thanks!

  • Have you updated the driver on your TV?
I read on the link, what I gave you:

    Constant and Random Signal Loss
I've had my LG OLED 55C7P for over 7 months and despite all the effort to fix it, it still loses signal every single day. The controller board has been replaced twice. I've replaced all the HDMI cables 4 times with different brands each time. I've shuffled all 4 devices (PS4Pro, Apple TV 4k, DirectTV and Chromecast) to various different ports. Software has been reloaded twice. TV has been reset to factory defaults 5 times. Despite all this it still doesn't work.
LG has been good about coming out and trying to repair it but we're not getting anywhere. I've got it on video several times but this is the best footage:

Ok, so all of a sudden I have a no input signal. Worked last night just fine and now this morning its gone. Here is all the troubleshooting I've tried thus far.
I switched HDMI ports on the back of the TV, tried a different HDMI cable, and used a totally different device (DVD player) and plugged that in all the HDMI ports with the two different cables.
With all of that I still am not getting a picture. So then I took out another TV and plugged my receiver into that and everything is working just fine on my small 22 inch TV.
So I know my receiver and HDMI cables aren't the problem. I sure hope my LG TV didn't just fail on me!!! I've had LG TV's for the past 10 years and planned on my next TV being a LG,
but now I'm thinking twice about that decision unless someone knows what I can do to get my TV back working. Oh, and when I hit the menu button on the LG remote the menu screen comes up just fine. Just wanted to add that.

So I think you must be 100% sure, before sending your dm900 back, that it's not your TV issue.

  • I have tested in another TV with another cable.
    Still no luck.

I am aware of the problems with my TV, but this is not the case.

  • Hi Zeros,
Thanks a lot for trying to help, but I think I made myself clear:
    It's not the tv, it's the dm900.
I have tested in another tv and the results are the same.
Please, someone who can read the bootlog:
Is there any indication there on where the fault can be?
