External subtitles setup

  • Hello, which plugin it’s for media player external subtitle configuration?
I have some movies with external .srt subtitles and charset its wrong, also font size its small.

    Thank You.

  • If your .srt files do have the same filename as your movies the subtitles should be displayed.
Normally you can change the font by adding a "subtitles section" (<subtitles></subtitles>) in your skin (skin_user.xml), but in DreamOS that makes no sense now since subtitles are still not skinable.

A long time ago (appr. 1 year) there has been a new gstreamer implemented and A.F.A.I.K. that is the reason subtitles are (still) not skinable. As a DMM team member, Fraxinas, replied in june 2016 that he will make the subtitles skinable when he has (found) some time to do that. However, I talked a month ago or so to Fraxinas and he told me that he was not working anymore for DMM..... We are now almost one year ahead and it is obviously not a priority to make the subtitles skinable.

  • Thank You for status update.
Subtitles are displayed but diacritic its wrong, after .srt conversion to UTF8 all good.
