diseqc Quad Lnb Dutch and Norwegian satelite

  • Hi there,

I am a little stuck and foud this site here. I hope you can answer me.

    The current situation:

I have a dutch subscription on canal digital. With that, I have a Quad Lnb with 3 antennas inside for the astra 19.2, 23.5 and 28.2 satellite.

I use a dreambox 7020HD for that one. I use both inputs from the 7020HD connected to the LNB so I can watch and record at the same time.

Then I have a second receiver for the 4.8E for the Norwegian channels.

I want to have the Norwegian also connected to the 7020HD so I don't have to switch the tv all the time.

I bought a Diseqc 4 to 1 switch and I tried the following:

switch to port 1 of the 7020HD, 1 of the astra lnb cables on lnb 1 of the switch and the Norwegian lnb on port 4 of that switch.

In the 7020HD, I used the advanced setup:

    try 1 diseqc mode 1.1:

    for astra:

    19.2: LNB1

    Committed Diseqc command : AA

    Command Order: Committed, uncommitted, toneburst

    Input : 1

    ---

    23.5: LNB2

    Committed Diseqc command : AB

    Command Order: Committed, uncommitted, toneburst

    Input : 1

    ---

    28.2: LNB3

    Committed Diseqc command : BA

    Command Order: Committed, uncommitted, toneburst

    Input : 1

    ---

    The Norwegian LNB:

    4.8: LNB4

    Committed Diseqc command : AA

    Command Order: Committed, uncommitted, toneburst

    Input : 4

That did not work really well.. it seems to hang on ot the Norwegian, or the dutch LNB. switching between those 2 seems to be a problem.

    -------------------

    Try 2 Diseqc 1.0:

    for astra:

    19.2: LNB1

    Committed Diseqc command : AA

    Command Order: Committed, toneburst

    ---

    23.5: LNB2

    Committed Diseqc command : AB

    Command Order: Committed, toneburst

    ---

    28.2: LNB3

    Committed Diseqc command : BA

    Command Order: Committed, toneburst

    The Norwegian LNB:

    ---

    4.8: LNB4

    Committed Diseqc command : AA

    Command Order: Committed, toneburst

    ------------

I get basicly the same results with this.

I notice when I go into the tuner setup and back, it does seem to change it to the right LNB.

the rest of the settings are original. I tried both fast Diseqc on and off

    Priority auto

    LOF Universal Lnb

    Voltage mode Polarisation

    Tone mode Band

    Increase voltage No

    Diseqc repeat off

    toneburst none

    sequence repeat no

    SCPC optimized search range yes

What am I doing wrong or what do I forget ?

    With regards,

  • a 4 to 1 is normally a 1.0 and no DiseqC 1.1 switch which means you can't cascade.

But with 4 inputs you have enough for all 4 positions.

  • Hi,

Thank you for your answer, it's :

Wideband 4x1 DiSEqC 1.0 Model 4x1W Premium Satellite Switch FTA Dish LNB CaF8

    one like this : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wideba…d27a99:g:C2oAAOSwgQ9V3tO1

the thing I don't really understand is what to use.

1.0 with AA AB BA for the Dutch LNB and then the BB for the Norwegian LNB ?

Because I think I tried it and it seemed buggy.. it could be ofcourse a buggy cheap diseqc switch.. but I need a general idea on how to configure.

from what I understand, the Quad LNB already has Diseqc for the 3 satelites. does that also count as cascade when putting the Diseqc 1.0 in between ?

  • again, if you have already a 1.0 switch ONLY a 1.1 switch will work behind.

  • Zitat

    4.8: LNB4

    Committed Diseqc command : AA

    Command Order: Committed, toneburst

Committed Diseqc command : BB not AA for the LNB4
