Subtitle 70w be cut in the second row and 43w subtitle in the middle of the screen! HELP US

  • Space to the people of South America to beg for repair of the subtitle of 70w and 43w

i attached a video I made here for you to have as a parameter the error Subtitle 70w be cut in the second row and there are delays of sync, the person finishes speaking the caption does not leave the screen. Could you take a look please? This is a problem that torments us a long time.

It is hosted on 4shared because of size 80MB. But it is a good material for you to correct the official picture, I'm tired of having to use images of different teams, if bought dreambox original dm7020HD would like to use the official firmware.

    Hi,

A bit of technical detail upfront:
DVB subtitles are graphical subtitles. In theory they are very flexible. Besides the actual graphical subtitles which have a certain size, the dvbsub stream of a broadcast also has to include the rendering position of the subtitles and may include a context display size for reference. This is the display size the coordinates of the rendering position are referencing.
    That being said....

    Your 70W sample
The subtitle stream claims to reference a display size of 720x480, which places the second subtitle line out of bounds.
I implemented a workaround that overrides the context display size to the default of 720x576, when the value provided in the stream would put the subtitles out of bounds.
While this fixes your problem, it only works around the core issue with your provider: they broadcast a wrong "display size"-field in the subtitle stream.
This is a technical bug that has to be fixed by your provider, rather than be worked around by your receiver manufacturer. Please report this bug to your provider. Tell them they should make sure to comply with the EN300743 specifications.

    Your 43W sample
This sample is basically a reversal of the above.
The "display size"-field on this broadcast is set to 720x576. But either this provider intends the subtitles to be placed the way they are, or - seeing as we are talking about a North American provider - they might assume a reference display size of 720x480 (NTSC standard), while defining 720x576 in the stream (maybe their own receivers just ignore or override the flag to 720x480; but again - this
is just an assumption on my part.
Either way there is no elegant way on our part to "fix" this. The fault is with the provider. We can't and wouldn't implement a hardcoded workaround, as this would break subtitles for all providers that actually comply to DVB standards.
Again you have to contact your provider in order to fix this issue. They should set the "display size"-field to 720x480, if that is what they are referencing in their subtitle positioning. Or they must change the subtitle positions in the stream.

  • Ok thanks for listening!

About repair provider, I doubt that perform! They only support the original decoders and the rest do not have any support!

It's a shame we Brazilians have to be content with subtitles that way.

I would finally touch the point of sync!

With the last fix 70w sync for some channels lost.

    Example file attached .ts

    70w wrong sync- http://www.4shared.com/rar/2OmNYF0n/70w_wrong_sync.html?

The character starts talking and subtitle nothing, gives an impression of delay.

The same occurs with the 43W see the last .ts record.

These adjustments "display size" are part of closed source or open source? Could one brazilian develop plugin to fix this? or that is impossible because is closed source?

And once again thanks for the help!
